Walker, No. 1 Lomega too much for Dover
Lomega has won what it hopes is the first of four postseason championships.
The Lady Raiders had little resistance last Friday as they defeated Dover 97-35 at home to lay claim to a Class B district championship.
The undefeated and defending state champions pushed their season record to 21-0 as they eye state title No. 15.
First, however, they have to deal with regional and area prior to a potential state tournament run.
The district went as expected as the Lady Raiders led by 20 after a quarter and by 40 at halftime.
Dover had no answer for Sydni Walker, who had 14 points by halftime and ended her night with 24.
Abby Swart came off the bench and scored 10 of her 16 points in the second quarter.
Emma Duffy sparked the early run with nine points in the first quarter. She finshed with 15.
Darcy Roberts added 10 points.
Dover, 6-12, was led by Kamree McNulty, who was playing just her second game of the season. She scored 15 points.
The Lady Longhorns will play Mason at 1 p.m. Thursday in Agra in a regional elimination game.
Lomega, meanwhile, remains in the winner’s bracket and takes on Coyle at 6 p.m. Thursday in Agra.
