Warriors 2nd in Dover golf tournament
Okarche had two medalists and was the runner-up Monday in the Dover Small School Invitational golf tournament.
The Warriors shot a 303 at Kingfisher Golf Course using the Maxwell scoring system, which uses a team’s four lowest scores per hole as opposed to the four lowest total scores at the end of the round.
Only Oklahoma Christian Academy with its 289 topped Okarche in a field of 18 teams.
The Eagles’ Cale Zachary was the first place medalist on the day with his 2-under-par 68. He was the lone golfer to shoot under par.
His teammate Caeden Terrill and Amber-Pocasset’s Bennett Posey tied for second with a 73.
Posey won on a scorecard playoff to take second and Terrill was third.
A pair of Warriors rounded out the trophy winners.
CyCollamoretookfourth place with his 74 and Asher Schieber was fifth with a 75.
Okarche also saw Lane Rother card a 77, Hudson Mueggenborg shoot an 84 and Christian Meyer a 96.
Piedmont JV placed third as a team with a 308.
The tournament featured golfers from five of the county’s schools.
Individually, Dover’s Sam Wood shot a 77, which tied him with Okarche’s Rother for seventh place individually.
Team-wise, Hennessey placed 10th with a 351.
The Eagles were led by Jameson Ladwig’s 84 while Tyson Root fired an 86.
Brayson Brinson shot 92 while Mason McGee offered a 101 and Titan Root a 102.
Kingfisher JV shot a 361 to placed 13th.
The Jackets were led by Hayes White and Hayden Todd, both of whom finished with 86s.
Todd also won the closest- to-the-pin competition on hole No. 7.
Kasen Blair shot a 95 for the Jackets while Jayden Vinot carded a 100 and William Dudzinski a 113.
Cashion was 15th with its 366.
Leading the Wildcats was Asher Howell with his 90. Right behind him were Maddox Gibson and Conner Poe, who shot 91 and 92, respectively.
Creek Patterson finished at 108 and Jamden Goff at 110.
