Wrestling regionals moved to this week

The regional wrestling tournaments originally scheduled for last week were postponed by the OSSAA.

The tournaments were to take place statewide last Friday and Saturday, but inclement weather plus the potential for even worse weather caused the postponements.

The regionals will now be held this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19-20.

Kingfisher will be a part of the 4A western regional at Clinton.

Hennessey and Cashion wrestlers are in the 3A east regional at Blackwell.

The seven lightest weights will be contested in each regional on Friday.

The seven heaviest weight classes will do the same on Saturday.

The top-five placers in each weight class will advance to state, which is scheduled Feb. 25-27 at State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City.
