Zyzer to deliver chip and seal work for county by October
Kingfisher County commissioners gave the goahead to Zyzer LLC to begin chip and seal work immediately at their weekly meeting.
The completion date was set for Oct. 1.
Zyzer submitted the lows bid at an earlier meeting.
Zyzer owner Brad Wittrock attended the meeting and discussed the starting time and other details with commissioners after the meeting.
Commissioners approved a new wind farm facility for Wagon Wheel Wind that will involve portions of Kingfisher (District 2), Noble, Garfi eld and Logan counties.
The contract establishes county authority for road work related to the wind farm construction, evidence of liability insurance of at least $2 million, compliance with all laws and setting load limits on roads and bridges connected to the project.
It also holds the county harmless from any claims or judgments against the county for actions arising from the wind farm’s construction or operation.
Several agenda items received approval including a contract with Pittsburg County Regional Juvenile Detention Center for care of juvenile detainees at a fee of $38.97 per day per detainee as needed, reimbursement of funds from the state to the county for the county law library, the election board, the county court clerk and the adoption of the Kingfisher County Cafeteria (health) plan at the same levels as last year, house-keeping, technical services, phone service, pest termination, medical director and lawn care and landscaping for the county health department, and the lump sum payment of the county’s property and liability policy plus self-insurance agreement through the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma (ACCO) Self-Insurance Group (SIG).
K&J Construction, LLC, received a permit for two county road pipeline crossings, a 12-inch and threeinch, located one mile north and five miles east of Dover in District 2.
Present for the meeting in addition to commissioners Jeff Moss, District 1, Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2, and Heath Dobrovolny, District 3, chairman, were County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as minute clerk, Wittrock and Andrew Martin of Zyzer, County Engineer Nik Smith and Lisa Powell of Invenergy.
