Chamber Christmas parade highlights full day
Crafts, food, shopping, 5K just part of Saturday’s activities as thousands expected to attend
It seems the Christmas activity never stops in Kingfisher.
Two weeks ago, it was Christmas on Main.
Last weekend it was the opening of Kingfisher Winter Nights.
And this Saturday, Dec. 7, is the big one...the Kingfi sher Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas parade followed by the ever-popular fireworks and laser light display.
Thisyear’sparadetheme is “A Cowboy Christmas” and the Kingfisher Chamber is preparing for a “rootin’ tootin’ good time,” said Executive Director Shauna Rupp.
As thousands annually converge here for the Christmas experience, Rupp likens it to a “hallmark moment.”
The parade is at 6 p.m. and will be punctuated by the fireworks spectacular, which is accompanied by the laser light show. It all will be choreographed this year to “Cowboy Christmas Music.”
The parade will feature lighted entries as it moves south down Main Street from Interbank to Banc-First, none brighter than the parade marshals.
The grand marshals are the most recent Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year award winners.
The Citizen of the Year, Greg Kannady, will accompany his wife, Susan, and they will be escorted by his mentors, Chuck and Lois Henderson.
Following behind them will be members of the AMBUCS committee: Taryn Kuehn, Jenny Laudwig, Erin Scammahorn, Terri Stake and, posthumously, Glenda Wolf.
