County project nets 7 bidders
County commissioners tabled bids for asphalt overlay projects in all three districts, but appeared pleased with the turnout.
Seven bids were opened and read during Monday’s weekly meeting.
“That’s a good turnout,” said District 3 Commissioner Anthony Schwarz, also the commission chairman who read the bids aloud.
District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss agreed: “There were lots of good bids.”
Still, the commissioners were joined by District 2’s Mike Sparks in voting to table them for further review.
Bids for the District 1 and 2 projects included a base bid and one alternate.
Those for District 3 included a base bid and three alternates.
Following are the companies who submitted bids and the total amount of their bids. They’re listed in the order they were opened and read:
• Rudy Construction Co. of Oklahoma City, $6,249,365.90
• CGC LLC of Edmond, $6,011,962.29
• Ellsworth Construction of Tulsa, $5,864,921.79
• Cummins Construction Co. of Enid, $5,844,314.66
• TJ Campbell Construction of Oklahoma City and Edmond, $4,852,862.45
• Schwarz Paving Company of Oklahoma City, $5,681,852.23
• Haskell Lemon Construction Co. of Oklahoma City, $6,802,353.47 The commissioners did move on the following action items:
• Approved the transfer of a steel beam from the Department of Transportation’s Interstate 40 crosstown project to District 1 for use of a bridge;
• Approved a lease agreement with the City of Kingfi sher for use of Memorial Hall for Kingfisher County Drug Court;
• Approved a notice to proceed on bids for electrical upgrades at the courthouse; • Approved monthly reports for the various offices within the courthouse.
Commissioners tabled action on a bid for a water line replacement for Kingfi sher Rural Water District No. 3.
County Engineer Nik Smith said the Kingfisher County Flood Plain Board will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 8, in the courthouse conference room.
