All we know is that her name is “Skeeter” and she loves being a clown and helping Lions Clubs with its fundraisers. She landed in Hennessey Wednesday afternoon and visited downtown businesses, the schools and with care center residents to give them a taste of clowning around.

That’s because Hennessey’s Lions Club will again sponsor shows by the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus this year, Skeeter told everyone she met.

Those shows are scheduled at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.

The show site is on the school’s property across the street south from 4-T’s at State Highway 51 and Mitchell Road.

Advance tickets are available from Lions Club members and at InterBank and Community State Bank, for $13 for adults and $8 for children. Tickets at the Circus gate are $16 for adults and $9 for children.
