Chip and seal on county blacktops is planned for the Hennessey area

District 2 Kingfisher County Commissioner Mike Sparks of Hennessey said his crew will soon be doing some chip and seal work in the Hennessey area.

He told Hennessey town trustees about his plans right after they’d adjourned their Monday night meeting.

( Editor’s note: Meetings are regularly held the second Tuesday of the month but were switched due to the Sept. 8-11 Oklahoma Municipal League’s statewide workshop involving town staff and board members.)

Trustees gave Sparks a “thanks” and “thumbsup” after he told them the locations of these four work sites:

• U.S. Highway 81 and Conoco Road, then South to Exxon Road and continuing east back to U.S. 81.

• Exxon and Cemetery roads going all the way to State Highway 51.

• From Cemetery Road and S.H. 51 going one mile North on Exxon Road and Industrial Road, one-half mile north.

• From U.S. 81 and Boundary Street (Dover), then one-half mile east.

Town board members at the Sept. 8 meeting were Mayor Randy Bohnstedt, Bert Gritz, Harold Shaw and David Jones. Absent was Vice Mayor John Peach.
