Homecoming Changes

Kingfisher High School homecoming coordinators have announced the following schedule changes for activities this week:

• PARADE RESCHEDULED to its traditional time of 3:30 p.m. Friday on Main Street.

• BONFIRE CANCELED due to the burn ban implemented Monday by Kingfisher County commissioners.

The coronation ceremony will be held as previously scheduled – 6:30 p.m. Friday at the football field.

Miriam’s Fun Run, Walk

Miriam the Comfort Dog from Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher is looking for friends to join her at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, for a fun run and walk to benefit Meals On Wheels.

The $25 entry fee includes a T-shirt and participants have their choice of a one-mile walk or 5K run.

Paint for Ukraine Peace

It’s not too late to sign up for a social painting class to raise funds for Ukrainian humanitarian aid.

“Paint for Peace” is scheduled for 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at the First United Methodist Church in Kingfisher.

For a suggested donation of $30, all materials will be provided to paint sunflowers, Ukraine’s national flower which has become a symbol of solidarity with the country.

Oklahoma resident and Ukrainian native Lyuda Cameron will lead the painting class, a project of the Kingfi sher Ministerial Alliance.
