Dover death ruled suicide

The death of a woman found inside a Dover house Wednesday afternoon has been ruled a suicide.

The body of Carrie Lynn Eckroat Feuerborn, 55, was found by the owners of the house located at 201 E. Oak St. shortly after 4 p.m., according to Kingfisher County Sheriff Dennis Banther.

According to Banther, Feuerborn had been living in the home since early this year.

She was last seen about two weeks ago, according to one neighbor, said Banther.

Her body was discovered in a closet in a spare bedroom; not the bedroom she slept in, according to Banther.

Once sheriff’s deputies arrived, they discovered a skull fracture.

“That gave us some pause, so we backed out and contacted the OSBI in case we were dealing with a homicide investigation,” Banther said.

When Agent Kevin Woodward of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was on the scene and the body was removed, investigators found a firearm and a spent casing.

It was determined, Banther said, the fracture was the exit wound.

“Once we got a search warrant signed, were able to move in and begin to better look at the scene, it took us about 20 minutes to determine it was a suicide and there was no other foul play involved,” Banther said.

Authorities were on the scene until about 9 p.m. he said.
