Hennessey’s FOL Pumpkin Patch to open this Friday south of the library
More than 1,000 pumpkins will fill the grassy area next to the Hennessey Public Library Friday afternoon in time for 3:30-6 p.m. sales by members of the Friends of the Library.
After Friday, the Pumpkin Patch will be open on Saturdays from noon-6 p.m. and Monday-Friday 3:30-6 p.m.
Unloading 1,018 Pumpkins
The truckload of 1,018 pumpkins is scheduled to arrive Thursday morning, but FOL members, and other friends, won’t start unloading them until that afternoon at about 3:30 p.m.
As usual, there will be big pumpkins, little ones and those in-between. Their official names and the amount ordered are: 240 Carvers, 520 Mini, 90 Pink Princess, 64 Bumpy, 64 Squidmo and 40 Snowbaby.
Worker Shifts
There is a volunteer sign-up sheet at the Public Library for shifts on Saturdays noon-3 p.m. and 3-6 p.m., or Monday-Friday, 3:30-6 p.m. Contact: Hennessey Public Library (405853-2073).
FOL uses funds from pumpkin sales to purchase books and help with other library projects and needs.
