Hennessey’s 15th annual Back to School Bash will be held Sunday, Aug. 11, and planners are asking for donations to be able to offer free school supplies to Hennessey Public Schools students.

The event is sponsored and conducted by Hennessey churches along with contributions from local businesses and individuals.

Donations may be sent to the Back to School Bash, c/o First Christian Church, P.O. Box 397, Hennessey, OK 73742.

School Supplies and More

HPS pre-kindergarten through high school seniors are invited to pick up free school supplies from 5-6 p.m. at the First Christian Church located at the corner of 500 E. 3rd and Oak streets.

School principals will be there to help check in students and church volunteers will give out the supplies.

The Hennessey Fire Department will serve free hot dogs and there will also be free bottled water and snow cones in the church parking lot during that time.

Free Swim is Only for Hennessey Students

The bash includes a free swim from 6-8 p.m. for Hennessey students only at the town’s aquatic center.

It’s only for Hennessey students because of the limited number of swimmers allowed in the pool, and past experiences.
