Sunshine Week came to a close Saturday, March 16, but its intentions should be highlighted all year.

Sunshine Week is a celebration of access to public information and what it means to you and your community. Participants include journalists, news media groups, civic groups, watchdog organizations, schools, Freedom of Information advocacy groups and others interested in the public’s right to access.

This year’s Sunshine Week ran from March 1016.

Listed below are just some of the local school, town/city and county boards plus information on when they meet, where they meet, how to find agendas and minutes and other information:

• Kingfisher Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted due to a holiday or at the end of the fiscal year in June) at the Kingfisher Junior High Library. Those who wish to address the board must sign up 10 minutes before the start of the meeting. • Hennessey’s Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the Seminar Room at the auditorium. Those who want to speak on an agenda item are asked to sign a speaker list before the meeting starts. If you want to speak on other topics then you must contact the superintendent, or the board president, 48 hours (two working days) prior to the meeting to be placed on the agenda. • The Okarche Board of Education meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. (the exception is the April 8 meeting, which begins at noon) and are held at the OHS library. Agendas and minutes can be found at https://meeting. assemblemeetings.com/Public/ Organization/ Okarche.

• The Lomega Board of Education meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Board of Education room at the high school. Agendas and minutes are posted on the school’s website at: https://lomega.k12.ok.us/ agendas-and-minutes/

• The Dover Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the superintendent’s office at 201 N. Taylor. Board agendas are posted online at https:// www.dover.k12.ok.us/page/ board-agendas and minutes can be found at https:// www.dover.k12.ok.us/page/ board-minutes

• The Cashion Board of Education meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Administration Office, 101 N. Euclid. Policy regarding addressing the board is printed on each agenda. • Chisholm Trail Technology Center Board of Education meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Seminar Center on campus. There are exceptions certain months to steer clear of holidays and banquets. The exceptions for the remainder of this year include June (members will meet June 3 and June 24 and then not meet in July), October (meeting is Oct. 7) and November (meeting is Nov. 12). • Kingfisher City Commission meets the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioners also meet as members of the Kingfisher Public Works Authority, Kingfisher Recreational Authority and Kingfisher Special Projects Authority on those dates. • The Hennessey Board of Trustees (town board) and Utilities Authority meet at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month in the conference room at Town Hall. Their agenda shows “Citizen Comments” at the start, and at the end, of each regular meeting. There are two meetings: first for the town, and then the Hennessey Utilities Authority. • The Cashion Town Board of Trustees meet at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, unless it’s a holiday. Trustees also meet as members of the Cashion Public Works Authority and Cashion Economic Development Authority. More information can be found at https://www.cashionok.org/ town-council

• The Town of Okarche’s board of trustees meets the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. The agenda is posted on the door at Town Hall and often times agendas are also posted on the Town of Okarche Facebook page.

• Kingfisher County Commissioners meet at 9 a.m. each Monday in their office at the Kingfisher County Courthouse. Guests are recognized for questions or comments (Limit 2 minute per person for comments). Agendas posted on a bulletin board by the Commissioners’ office and lobby (west) entrance of Courthouse.
