Hennessey’s 14th annual Back to School Bash will be held Sunday, July 30, and planners are asking for donations to be able to offer free school supplies to Hennessey Public Schools students.

The event is sponsored and conducted by Hennessey churches along with contributions from local businesses and individuals.

Donations may be sent to the Back to School Bash, c/o First Christian Church, P.O. Box 397, Hennessey, OK 73742.

School Supplies and More HPS pre-kindergarten through high school seniors may pick up free school supplies from 4:30-6 p.m. at the First Christian Church located at 500 E. Third St.

HPS principals will be there to help check-in students and church volunteers will give out supplies.

The Hennessey Fire Department will serve free hot dogs and there will also be free snow cones in the church parking lot during that time.

There will also be free hair trims for students with freshly-washed and dried hair.

Free Swim

The event includes a free swim from 6-9 p.m. for HPS students only at the Aquatic Center.

It’s limited to Hennessey students because of past experience, organizers said, and the limited number of swimmers allowed in the pool.
