Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for February 2022.

Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Keylun Combs, sophomore Emmy Lunsford, junior Mayce Gibson and senior Demi Roden.

Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.

Combs is the son of Chris and Jamie Combs and Erin and Tom Newell.

He is a member of the KHS track team, KHS basketball team and the Kingfisher FFA Chapter.

He has also been a referee for the Kingfisher Youth Soccer League.

Lunsford is the daughter of Kenny and Meggan Lunsford.

She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

She is a member of the KHS cross country team that was regional champion and third at state in 2020.

In 2021, she was a member of the state qualifying track team and cross country team.

Last year, Lunsford served as freshman class Student Council representative and this year she was chosen sophomore class queen.

She serves on the Center of Family Love Teen Board and is a member of the Federated Church.

Gibson is the daughter of Ryan and Ashley Gibson.

She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

She is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter.

Through her involvement on the parliamentary procedure team, Gibson has become a certified parliamentarian and was named the National Outstanding Chair in 2021.

She is a member of Spanish Club and Student Council and is a KHS football manager.

Roden is the daughter of Debby Roden and the late Kevin Roden.

She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.

Roden is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and has received the 4.0 Award.

She has received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for pre-calculus and Spanish I.

She was selected as the February Junior Lion of the Month.

She is a member of the KHS track team and KHS cheer squad.

Roden is active in Student Council and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She attends Life.Church and is a lifeguard at the Vernie Snow Aquatic Center.
