Kingfisher Police Department investigates recent reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
May 1 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Tyler Girten responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, a Walmart asset protection associate said he observed a 33-year-old male suspect appear to take items without purchasing them.
The suspect was confronted about the theft and he then fled across the parking lot in a northbound direction, the report said.
Officers located the suspect near the Jacksons auto dealership, but were unable to find the alleged stolen merchandise and the suspect was released, according to the report.
Girten said in his report that officers later recovered two bottles of wine, alleged to be the stolen items, in the vicinity where the suspect was previously detained.
The reported value of the stolen merchandise was $21.92.
Officers Matthew Hollon and Brandon Chapman assisted with the investigation.
May 2 - Burglary-second degree (auto).
Officer Justin Trumbley responded to a reported automobile burglary in the 800 block of Clark Drive.
According to the report, Alice Cuthers stated she observed items in her vehicle had been moved and the center console was open, but nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.
May 5 - Domestic abuse assault and battery.
Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 800 block of South Third Street.
May 5 - Altering, removing or tampering with utility property.
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to report of theft of city utilities in the 200 block of West Miles Avenue.
According to the report, an employee with the City of Kingfisher Electric Department stated an electric meter had been tampered with at a residence.
Hollon contacted an employee at City Hall and determined electricity had been disconnected to the residence on April 28 due to lack of payment, the report said.
Hollon said in his report that he made contact with one of the residents and the 29-year-old male indicated that he and two other individuals live at the residence, but he had no knowledge of the incident.
According to the report, Hollon also made contact with the other two residents via telephone, but they also denied an knowledge of the situation.
May 6 - Burglary-second degree (auto).
Officer Matthew Hollon took a report regarding theft from a vehicle in the 1000 block of South 12th Street.
Nikolas Smith reportedly stated his wife’s engagement ring was stolen out of their vehicle on the evening of April 20 or early morning hours of April 21.
According to the report, Smith stated his wife accidentally left her rings in the vehicle overnight and in the morning she observed the vehicle door open, her wedding band in the floor and her engagement ring missing.
The reported value of the ring was $7,095.
Hollon entered the ring’s identifying information into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
May 6 - Burglary of vehicle.
Officer Travis Gray responded to a report of theft in the 700 block of South 11th Street.
Tara Olson reportedly stated her vehicle had been rummaged through after midnight and she discovered $700 in cash was missing.
Officers checked the area for surveillance cameras, but were unable to locate any, the report said.
May 7 - Domestic assault and battery/abuse and warrant.
Officer Jeffrey Robbins responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 600 block of West Toronto Avenue.
According to the report, one suspect was arrested for outstanding warrants and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officer Brandon Chapman assisted with the investigation.
