The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

July 20 - Unlawful possession of paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited, receiving/concealing stolen property, larceny-auto, aircraft or other motor vehicle and obstructing an officer.

Officer Justin Trumbley said in his report, that following an arrest earlier that day, he and fellow officers served a search warrant at a room at Payless Inn, 2300 Frontage Road.

According to the report, officers made contact with the occupants of the motel room and discovered stolen items from a previous car burglary in the area and other possible stolen items as well as illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

A 23-year-old female and 35-year-old male were arrested for unlawful possession of paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited, receiving/concealing stolen property, larceny-automobile, aircraft or other motor vehicle and obstructing an officer and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

According to the report, items seized in the investigation included: a bag of cut identification and Social Security cards, glass pipe with burnt residue and plastic baggie with green leafy substance (which field tested positive for marijuana), bag with checks and heroin in foil wrapper, birth certificates, plastic baggies, straw, metal smoking pipe, vape container, scale, syringes and baggies with crystal substance (which field tested positive for methamphetamine), two LG phones, new children’s clothes and other items with a total reported value of $600.

Many of the items recovered were reported missing from a stolen 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe that was recovered earlier in the day and observed on surveillance footage near the motel room, the report said.

Another suspect was arrested previously that day which led to the motel search warrant and the 32-year-old male arrestee was additionally charged with possession of heroin, possession of paraphernalia and knowingly concealing stolen property, according to the report.

Officers Jeffrey Robbins, Aaron Schlegel and Jason East as well as Capt. Travis Gray and Chief David Catron assisted with the investigation.

July 27 - DUI-liquor or drugs.

Officer Jeffrey Robbins said in his report that he was on patrol in the area of 800 South Third Street when he observed a vehicle with a defective tag light.

According to the report, Robbins initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and made contact with the 36-year-old male driver.

The driver appeared to show signs of intoxication and produced a prescription bottle of Valium, stating that he had taken a pill approximately three hours prior, the report said.

Robbins confirmed the driver had a valid driver’s license as well as no warrants and then performed field sobriety tests which the driver failed to perform adequately, according to the report.

The driver was given a verbal warning for the defective tag light and placed under arrest for DUI, transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for a blood test (which the suspect refused) and then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

August 3 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked.

Officer Jeffrey Robbins said in his report that he was on patrol in the area of U.S. 81 and Don Blanding Avenue when he observed a 2002 Dodge Ram with a defective tag light.

According to the report, Robbins initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and the 33-year-old male driver stated he didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

Robbins observed a marijuana cigarette in the vehicle and asked the driver and passenger if either one possessed a medical marijuana license, in which they both produced valid marijuana licenses, according to the report.

After checking with dispatch, Robbins was informed the driver had a suspended driver’s license and a warrant in Okmulgee County, the report said.

The driver was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant and driving with a suspended license and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officer Brandon Chapman completed an inventory of the vehicle and the vehicle was impounded.

August 4 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked.

Officer Tyler Girten said in his report that he was on patrol in the vicinity of 13th Street and S.H. 33 and observed a westbound vehicle make an improper left turn onto South 13th Street.

Girten initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and upon asking the 47-year-old male driver for his driver’s license, the driver stated he currently had a temporary license, the report said.

Dispatch advised Girten that the driver’s license was revoked and the officer gave the driver a ticket for driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, according to the report.

The driver was then informed that he should contact a licensed driver to remove the vehicle, the report said.

August 5 - Larceny of lost property.

Officer Christopher McDaniel took a report of theft at Holt Car Wash, 1503 S. Main St.

According to the report, the car wash manager said that on July 23, he was filling the self-service money kiosk with change and inadvertently left $100 to $125 in rolled coins on the kiosk.

McDaniel said in his report that he observed surveillance footage of the incident and witnessed a suspect get out of a vehicle and remove the container of rolled coins, wash his vehicle and drive away.

McDaniel was able to obtain the vehicle’s license plate number and a description of the suspect from the surveillance footage, the report said.

According to the report, the vehicle belonged to an energy company, and upon making contact with a representative of the company, McDaniel was informed the suspect still had the money, but said he didn’t know where to return it.

The suspect returned the money to the Kingfisher Police Department, which was then returned to the car wash manager, report said.

August 9 - Domestic abuse assault and battery. Officer Brandon Chapman responded to a report of an altercation at Cattlemen’s Inn, 224 W. Broadway.

Officer Jeff Robbins assisted with the investigation.
