Okarche competes in state one-act play contest

The Okarche High School speech team took part in the OSSAA Class 4A state one-act competition in Choctaw last weekend.

The team qualified for state by placing second at the regional.

State comprised of nine different schools competing with their respective oneact plays.

Okarche eventually placed sixth with its peformance of “Tracks” by Peter Tarasi.

Participants included actors Zoe Palmer, Jaylan Candy-Fire, Maddie Vogt, Stella Krittenbrink, Elizabeth Shroder, McKenna Sadler, Sara Jacobs, Garrett England, Jaci Black, and Colin Stover; and tech crew Brianna Mollohan, Julia Rayburn, Adelynn Johnson, Tenley Ludwig, and Hayden Wittrock.

T.J. Harris was the director.

Palmer, a senior, also won all-star cast recognition at the regional in Leedey.

The state competition was won by Alva while Cherokee was the state runner-up.
