Recent Kingfisher PD reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
February 20 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana. Officer Michael Farrar said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with a defective headlight and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 30-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license. The driver was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, the report said. A search of the vehicle produced four containers with THC Dab and a glass and rubber pipe, according to the report. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel and Officer Steven Renbarger assisted with the investigation.
March 4 - Possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited- marijuana, transporting open container- liquor and no valid driver’s license. Officer Michael Farrar said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with an inoperable third brake light and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 32-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license and an odor of marijuana was detected by the officer. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel performed field sobriety tests on the suspect until he became uncooperative, the report said. Officers performed a search of the vehicle and located a glass pipe with crystal-like substance in it (which field tested positive for methamphetamine), a used syringe, a marijuana joint, an empty liquor bottle, three “mostly empty” liquor bottles and a full bottle of liquor, according to the report. The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, transporting an open container of liquor and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
March 6 - Domestic abuse by strangulation and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Captain Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 800 block of South Third Street.
March 6 - Possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, improper display of tag, failure to wear seat belt, expired tag and warrant. Officer Michael Farrar said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 driven by an individual known to have an outstanding warrant and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 42-year-old female driver was driving without a valid license and not wearing a seatbelt. The suspect was placed under arrest and she informed officers there was methamphetamine located in her purse, the report said. Officers located two baggies containing a crystal-like substance in the suspect’s purse which field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report. An inventory of the vehicle was performed and the suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel and Officers Justin Conner and Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.
March 7 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, failure to pay all taxes due state, failure to show insurance, improper display of tag, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited- marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer Michael Farrar said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with a defective third brake light and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 43-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license or insurance and the tag displayed on the vehicle was registered to a different vehicle. The suspect also had an outstanding warrant from another county, the report said. An inventory of the vehicle was performed and a glass pipe containing burnt marijuana was located, according to the report. Officers placed the suspect under arrest for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, improper display of tag, taxes due state, failure to comply with compulsory insurance law and driving with a suspended license. The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.
March 7 - DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV and transporting open container- liquor. Officer Michael Farrar said in his report that he observed a vehicle on West Fay Avenue with a defective third brake light and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the officer made contact with the 58-year-old male driver and detected the odor of alcohol. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel performed field sobriety tests on the suspect and he was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence, the report said. A search and inventory of the vehicle was performed and a clear water bottle containing a brown colored liquid which had an odor of alcohol was located, according to the report. The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
March 9 - Domestic assault and battery/abuse. Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 600 block of North Sixth St. Officer Steven Renbarger assisted with the investigation.
