Recent Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

July 2 - Obedience to and required traffic control devices and DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV. — Sergeant Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 make a right turn onto East Will Rogers Drive without making a complete stop at the traffic signal and he initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 44-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were performed. The suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

July 2 - Domestic assault and battery/abuse. — Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of South Third Street.

July 3 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. — Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. According to the report, a 52-year-old male suspect, known to Walmart management for alleged previous thefts, exited the store with multiple stolen items. The total reported value of the items was $432.77.

July 3 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. According to the report, a 53-year-old male suspect attempted to pay for multiple items in the self-checkout, but the payment was declined and the individual exited the store with the unpurchased merchandise. The total reported value of the items was $122.76. Conner said in his report that he made contact with the suspect, who provided documentation of a bank transaction, but of a different total dollar amount. According to the report, the Walmart asset protection employee stated the receipt presented to the officer was for a separate transaction. The suspect admitted to attempting to purchase the specific items on July 1 and returned to make full payment after being contacted by the officer, the report said.

July 5 - DUI-liqour or drugs/APCV and transporting open container- liquor. — Officer Michael Farrar said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 which crossed over the center line multiple times and he initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, he made contact with the 23-year-old male driver and detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, as well as an odor of alcoholic beverage on the suspect. Field sobriety tests were performed and the suspect was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence, the report said. An inventory of the vehicle produced two unopened Coors Light cans and an open can of Smirnoff Ice with liquid inside, according to the report. The suspect was additionally charged with transporting open container- liqour. The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and the vehicle was towed. Officer Steven Renbarger assisted with the investigation.

July 11 - Indecent exposure. — Captain Dustin Brodrick took a report of a male suspect exposing himself to an employee at Casey’s General Store, 102 S. Main St. According to the report, the 35-year-old male suspect exposed himself to the employee while checking out at the register. Brodrick reviewed surveillance footage and made contact with the suspect. After reviewing surveillance of the incident with the suspect and questioning him if it was intentional, the suspect agreed that it was, the report said.

July 13 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. — Officer Steven Renbarger responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. According to the report, a 36-year-old male suspect was observed taking several items of merchandise, placing them in a backpack and then exited the store without paying for the items. The total reported value of the stolen merchandise was $52.26. Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel assisted with the investigation.
