Reception to honor 70th anniversary of Wakefields
The family of John and Donna Wakefield will host a come-and-go reception in honor of their parents and grandparents from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the New Hope United Methodist Church, 11600 N. Council Road, Oklahoma City.
John Gene Wakefield and Donna E. Mason were married March 27, 1954, in Minco.
They began their lives together in Aurora, Colo., where John was stationed serving in the Air Force.
When his service ended, he and Donna moved back to Oklahoma.
John retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in the early 1980s. Donna retired from the public school system.
They currently reside in the Deer Creek area of Edmond where they farm and ranch.
Hosting the reception will be their children and grandchildren.
Their children are Robert and Maudean Wakefield, Sandi and Jim Morgan, Jer- ry and Ruth Ann Wakefield and Terry and Lisa Wakefi eld, all of the Edmond area.
Grandchildren are Shane and Heather Wakefield of Moore, Mickey and Erin Wakefield of Mustang, Whitney Wakefield and Dylan Clayton of Tulsa, Bryce and Sandra Wakefi eld of Broken Arrow, Kali and Austin Hammonds of Edmond, Trevor and Tori Wakefield of Edmond, and Trent Wakefield of Dallas, Texas.
John and Donna have three great-grandchildren: Cannon Wakefield, Brynlee Wakefield and Evelyn Wakefield. They also have two more great-grandchildren on the way.
