Students from Kingfisher, Okarche show off robots in FIRST Lego competition
Students from Weatherford Girl Scouts, Kingfisher Upper Elementary, Okarche Elementary School, Okarche Junior High School and Okarche High School met to showcase the robots they’ve been developing over the past few weeks and receive feedback from industry experts. This year’s challenge focuses on life beneath the ocean’s surface, encouraging teams to use their STEM and collaboration skills to explore marine environments. It emphasizes the importance of innovation in creating a better world, highlighting the need to protect our oceans and foster strong communities. “Devon believes in the importance of introducing kids to STEM concepts and real-life experiences at an early age,” said Tangi Smith, Devon community relations supervisor. “FIRST Lego is a great example of how kids can advance their knowledge and skills through competition. We cannot wait to cheer on our teams.” Teams will compete in local and regional competitions in the coming months. [Photos provided]
