Theta Tau members install new officers

Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met at 6 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the home of Cynthia Eaton for fellowship, installation and secret sister reveal.

Cathy Holsted, installing officer, conducted the installation of the 2025-26 officers.

Those serving are: Stormy Simmons, president; Karen Hubbard, vice president; Ramona Paine, secretary; Holsted, treasurer; Terri Peck, education director; and Terri Stake, parliamentarian.

To accept their oath, they had to form a “trunk.”

Each officer received an ornament with an elephant and a charm. All the members also received a charm with a saying.

Simmons’ theme is “ESA Elephant Squad… the Many Helping Hands of Theta Tau.”

Her logo will be elephants.

Punch and cake were served as Eaton was the baker and decorator of the cake with the president’s theme.

Those attending state convention May 2-3 at the Reed Center in Midwest City were Cathy and Doc Holsted, Simmons, Glenn and Olivia Simmons, Dana Terrell and Ramona Paine. Theta Tau chapter won the following awards at convention: Disaster Fund, second; Easter Seals, second for hours; Non-ALSAC ESA Foundation donation, first; State Project (Oklahoma School for Blind and Oklahoma School for the Deaf), second for hours and first for monies donated; and philanthropic, third for hours.

Theta Tau was responsible for table decorations for the banquet on Saturday night.

The following members were recognized with a certificate for years of service: Stake, 20 years; Misty Blundell, 35 years; LaVenia Boutwell, 40 years; Holsted and Donna McPherson, 50 years.

Theta Tau was recognized in the St. Jude Walk for being credited with a donation of $63,186.95 with a total of all the Oklahoma State Organization ESA for contributing $272,802.32 for the year.

The members will work the St. Jude Dream Home in Edmond the last weekend in August.

The members honored a graduating senior, Landon Rempe, as its Outstanding Youth with an honorary gift.

Secret sister gift exchange was held and new names were drawn for next year.

The group is recessing for the summer and meetings will resume in September.

The Social Committee (Eaton, Karen Castonguay, Golbek, Terrell, Paige Kraus and Stake) served hot dogs and sides, chips, dips and drinks to: Holsted, Peck, Simmons, McPherson, Beth Schieber, Paine, Blundell, Karen Hubbard and Debi Trout.
