Wilson notes additions to curriculum, staff at Lomega for 2024-25
Students at Lomega have already been attending school for almost a week as the district began Aug. 8.
There were a half-dozen new staff members awaiting their arrival.
Those staff additions announced by second-year Superintendent Cory Wilson were: Shanna Flynn - Third grade Chay Lee - Fifth grade Jordan Lopp - Art Tate Ott - Elementary PE, coach Christie Lorenz - High school Spanish Robyn Whaley - High school English/ACT Prep Lopp, Lorenz and Whaley are helping bring something new to the district in their respective roles.
Art is being offered at the elementary for the first time this year.
Prior to this year, Spanish had only been offered remotely and not in-person.
Lorenz reverses that this year.
Whaley will be teaching an ACT prep curriculum that she developed herself.
“These are all changes and additions that we’re excited about,” Wilson said. “I feel like we’re adding to what’s already an excellent academic culture at Lomega with these moves and it provides even more opportunities of enhancements for our students.”
Shortly after school began, a refinishing project began on the elementary gym floor.
At the high school baseball field, new fencing has been added and work is being done on a new entrance.
Air conditioning and heat have also been added to the new baseball concession stand.
