John and Linda Zielny celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this week.

Linda S. Shimanek and John W. Zielny were married Aug. 7, 1971, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hennessey.

Linda is a retired school teacher and John is retired from the United States Post Office.

The couple live and farm in the Marshall area.

They have three children and six grandchildren: Lezlie and Dagan Hardin, Baritt and Jessin; Jason and Ashley Zielny, Piper and Noelle; and Lisa and Chad Newby, Duke and Jett.
