The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: May 20 - Domestic abuse by strangulation.Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of a 911 hang-up call and a domestic altercation.

Certified staff at Kingfisher Public Schools will see a $2,000 pay raise in 2026-27. That measure was mandated last month when the legislature passed - and the governor signed - a bill requiring a minimum $2,000 pay increase for teachers at all levels.

A total of 8,907 students were named to the 2026 spring semester honor rolls at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, including 4,176 students named to the President’s Honor Roll for earning an A grade in all their courses.

A rezoning request by Montie Bullis and a variance permit asked by Esteban Meraz Et Ux are scheduled at different times Tuesday, July 7, at the Hennessey Town Hall.The Bullis request will be heard at 5 p.m. and the Meraz variance will follow at 5:30 p.m.

It was bad.It could have been much worse.Storms blew threw Kingfisher County - and much of the rest of northwestern Oklahoma - early Monday morning.They brought with them needed rain, but also damaging winds and even tornado warnings.

The financial situation for Kingfisher Public Schools remains fragile, but also is forging through a rebuilding process that wasn’t unexpected, said Superintendent Andy Evans.

An Enid resident was injured Sunday night in a motorcyle accident between Kingfisher and Dover.Shannon D. Wright, 55, suffered injuries in a wreck on U.S. Highway 81 near County Road E750 at about 6 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
