FRIENDS ON DISPLAY – Kingfisher Friends of the Library continues to be active in doing its part to benefit the Kingfisher Memorial Library. The group recently completed a “facelift” to the outside of the building with new flowerbeds and landscaping.

Local book club meets Monday

Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club will meet Monday, Sept. 25, at the Farm Bureau Insurance Building, 117 W. Sheridan Ave., Kingfisher.Dutch treat lunch is $10 and will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a presentation by Linda Powers.She will review “Dust Bowl Girls” by Lydia Reeder.

Broadband office preps for second round of tour stops

Starting early next month, the Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) will begin a second round of tour stops to visit with and hear from Oklahomans about high-speed internet service expansion, OBO Executive Director Mike Sanders announced last week.One of those stops is in Kingfisher County.

HPS sees bump in estimate of needs

Hennessey Public Schools’ budget for 202324 is $2 million more than last year. That’s what President Luke Lough said last Monday night before board members approved the district’s yearly estimate of needs.The move was made at the board of education’s regular September meeting.
