Rotary hosts quartet of KHS seniors

Four Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Joining the local civic group were Addison Shelton, Elizabeth Pickle, Madison Farrar and Miriah Hernandez.Shelton is the daughter of Miranda Shelton.

Altar Society holds January meeting

The Sts. Peter & Paul Altar Society met Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the Parish Hall.The meeting opened with President Ann Finley leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.The opening prayer was given by Chaplain Francene Eaton.

Book club to meet next Monday

Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club will meet Monday, Jan. 26, at the Farm Bureau Insurance Building, 117 W. Sheridan Ave., in Kingfisher.Linda McDonald of Oklahoma City will review her book “Belle Starr: Tough Trip Through Paradise.”Lunch will be catered at 11:30 a.m. and is $15 per person.

P.E.O. Day proclaimed in Kingfisher

Kingfisher Mayor Geoff Covalt, left, presented a proclamation to fellow city commissioner Tammy Sammons, who also served as vice president of Chapter Y of Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.). The proclamation was presented during the January regular meeting of the commission.

Container gardening for everyone

An educational lesson “Container Gardening for Everyone” will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Kingfisher County OSU Extension Office, 300 S. 13th St, Kingfisher.The lesson will cover the do’s and don’ts of creating an attractive space in just about any area of your home.
