Kingfisher Educational Foundation didn’t completely reinvent the wheel when it adopted the now annual duck race as its primary fundraiser 21 years ago. But it took more than a little trial and error to pull off the first one, former KEF president Pat Cheap said.

The Cashion High School Class of 2020 ensured it had ample space for social distancing when its graduation ceremony was held June 3 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. The ballpark is home to the Oklahoma City Dodgers minor league baseball team.

Okarche High School senior Carsyn Taylor has been recognized as a recipient of the 2020 Oklahoma State Superintendent’s Award for Arts Excellence. Taylor, a four-year member of the Okarche speech and drama department, was one of 25 students statewide to receive the award in the field of theatre.

Valerie and Tommy Mueggenborg of Okarche announce the birth of their son, Andrew Duane. Andrew was born May 2, 2020, in Oklahoma City. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and measured 20 1/4 inches. He has one older brother, Kyler. Maternal grandparents are Duane and Gail Kadavy of Kingfisher.

EPIC Charter Schools, in its first-ever virtual graduation ceremony to honor the Class of 2020, conferred diplomas on 3,805 students on Saturday, June 6. The virtual ceremony included recorded remarks from notable Oklahoma speakers such as former Gov.

Kingfisher County commissioners tabled action on renewing the contract of Total Assessment Solutions Corp.(TASC) in the amount of $55,000 at their weekly meeting Monday. The company has been assessing oil and gas properties for ad valorem tax purposes.
