As the Kingfisher High School school year enters its fourth quarter it is time for the KHS Photography Staff to “pass the torch” to the next generation of leadership.

Kingfisher Rotary hosts 2 KHS seniors

Kingfisher High School seniors Daken Milligan and Jackson Leffingwell were guests last week of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Milligan is the son of Stephanie Alexander and Kelly Milligan. He’s active in band and was the drum major and drumline captain.

Bollenbach speaks to retired educators

Kingfisher High School alumnus Kurt Bollenbach, right, was the guest speaker recently at the March meeting of the Kingfisher Retired Educators. Bollenbach is currently a member of the state Board of Education. He was introduced by program chairperson Nancy Teders, left.

Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: February 28 - Fraudulent bill of lading. Officer Dillon Chaloupek responded to a report of alleged fraud at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 1301 S. Main St.

Monday is date for assessment

County Assessor Carolyn Mulherin reminded Friday that Monday is the deadline to claim homestead exemptions and to assess property for 2020 tax purposes. Homeowners must have been living in the residence on Jan. 1 and the deed filed by Feb. 1 of the year for which an exemption is claimed.

Fed funds awarded for county road fix

Kingfisher County Commissioner Districts 1 and 2 have been approved to receive $99,300.41 in federal emergency relief for damage to the Dover-Crescent Road. The damage occurred during 2019 flood events. District 2 was approved for $55,454.67 and District 1 for $43,845.74.
