A new partnership with the nation’s largest manufacturer of custom air handling equipment is giving the Center of Family Love’s Filters for Life center in Kingfisher a high-tech upgrade.

Betty Jane Teders may have retired as director of the Upper Room Thrift Shop at the end of December, but she’s still a regular volunteer.

Fourth generation U.S. military combat veteran Eli Davis will headline the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet Monday, Feb. 10, at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building. The evening begins with networking and refreshments at 5:30 p.m., with dinner to be served at 6:30 p.m.

With an increased desire to offer more community outreach came the necessity of more space to help provide it. That was the dilemma facing the Federated Church in Kingfisher. That dilemma is on its way to being solved. A groundbreaking ceremony for the church’s new annex was held last week.

The USDA Farm Service Agency recommends early enrollment in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs. These programs provide important crop risk protection. The deadline to enroll for the 2019 crop year is March 16.

Members of the Okarche High School speech team had a successful January, bringing home school awards from the two tournaments they attended. On Saturday, Jan. 18, three members competed in the Duncan Invitational Tournament.

The Town of Hennessey agreed to temporarily provide the Hennessey Public Schools with a police officer to serve as their resource officer. An agreement was approved by the town in a special meeting Friday morning, and will run through March, but could go until the end of the school year, if needed.

Kingfisher High School seniors Jaelle Farrell and Riley Myers have been announced as the Junior Lions for February 2020. Farrell is the daughter of James and Jennifer Farrell. She’s been active in band, drama, FCCLA and student council, among other activities.
