Kingfisher High School seniors Jacqueline Marquez, Monica Mojica and Jaelle Farrell were guests at a recent meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Marquez is the daughter of Evelia and Sergio Marquez. She is a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society.

Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club will meet Nov. 25 at the Farm Bureau Insurance Building located at 117 W. Sheridan Ave. in Kingfi sher. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a presentation by Melody Kruger of Oklahoma City.

The Kingfisher Elks Lodge is planning a memorial service for members who passed away in the last year. The service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, in the lodge’s dining room. All spouses and all family of the departed members are invited. Refreshments will be served after the service.

I’m probably a little prejudiced because we’re in the newspaper business and our local post offi ce staff is absolutely vital to delivering our product to our customers in a timely manner twice a week, 52 weeks a year here in Kingfisher.

Blood drives are planned at two different Kingfi sher churches this Sunday, Nov. 24. Scheduled are drives at: • Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 309 S. Main St., from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; and, • First Baptist Church of Kingfi sher, 1340 S. 13th St., from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Amy Parker, therapist, and Sherri Worth, licensed practical nurse, with Red Rock Behavioral Health Services were the guest speakers of the Kingfi sher Lions Club last week. The pair explained the operation of the facility, located at 107 N. Main St.
