Six students were waiting outside the high school counselor’s office to enroll on the third day of school so enrollment numbers keep changing, said Hennessey Public School Superintendent Dr. Mike Woods. He blamed late enrollments because of the early school start on Aug. 8.

The video’s first images trigger every parent’s protective instincts. A 10-month-old baby sits alone on a raft floating in a pool, dressed in shorts and a long-sleeved shirt. Suddenly, the raft is upended by an adult, and the fully-clothed infant is tipped headlong into the water.

Air Force pilot Capt. Edward L. Goucher, who died in action during the Vietnam War, will soon have his name added to a monument in Hennessey’s Memorial Park dedicated to fallen heroes. Hennessey’s Board of Trustees gave approval for the addition at its Tuesday night meeting.

Preparations for the Kingfisher County Free Fair was the central activity of the Surprise Extension Homemakers at their meeting, held Aug. 13 at the home of Loretta Kretchmar.   Between the five members, over 60 entries were  tagged and readied for entry.

Kingfisher County commissioners approved a fiscal year 2019-2020 county budget totaling $17,161,762.18 at their weekly meeting Monday, up from $13,891,898.12 a year earlier.

The Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building was buzzing Wednesday and Thursday and 4-H, sewing, culinary, wine, photography, art and produce entries were brought in and judged.  [KT&FPStaff Photos]
