The Kadavy and Skarky families met Aug. 4 at the home of Duane and Gail Kadavy. A meal, including homemade ice cream, was served.

Plainview HCE met at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Debbie Winters’ home. Dana Golbek, president, brought the meeting to order. Members recited pledges to American and Oklahoma flags, followed by the devotion.

There will be 483 students earn their degrees as the summer 2019 semester at the University of Central Oklahoma comes to a close. Of that number, UCO received applications for graduation from 411 undergraduate students and 72 graduate students.

There’s a fungus among us.According to the Centers for Disease Control, each year 500,000 people in the U.S. contract histoplasmosis, a potentially fatal fungal infection.Histoplasmosis also infects dogs and cats. In fact, Oklahoma probably sees the most cases of histoplasmosis in pets in the U.S.

MEET THE TEACHER: MONDAY, AUG. 12     GROWING & IMPROVING With one big exception, Kingfisher Public Schools has not had many major projects this summer outside of the typical summer maintenance and upgrades, according to Superintendent Jason Sternberger.
