Tristun Burnham racked up another golf win last week…and another scholarship.The recent Kingfisher High School graduate, who has signed to continue his golf career at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, was the winner in Monday’s K101 Classic Bowl Golf Tournament in Woodward.

Several county athletes competed this weekend in other all-star and all-state games.That includes the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State games, the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-State games and the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association all-star games.

Friesen, Ridenour 6th at state tennis

A pair of Kingfisher High School seniors had one more fun ride in athletics before walking the graduation stage.Drake Friesen and Xavier Ridenour made it deep into the second day of the Class 4A state tennis tournament.Ultimately the Kingfisher pair took sixth place in the No. 2 doubles bracket.

Jackets have solid closing act

There have been times in Kingfisher High School golf history that a state runner-up finish was disappointing.Don’t count 2023 among them.The Yellowjackets brought home Class 3A’s runner-up prize after Tuesday’s final round of the 54-hole tournament at Ardmore’s Lakeview Golf Club.
