Wildcats’ state baseball game postponed, moved

Some of the Class 2A state baseball quarterfinals were able to be played on Thursday.Cashion’s wasn’t one of them.Severe weather delayed Cashion’s game against Oktaha and also moved its location.The two were set to play at 6:30 p.m.

Cashion golfers finish 8th at 2A state

Community Christian handily won the Class 2A boys state golf championship while Cashion wound up eighth in the two-day tournament.The Wildcats shot 334 on their final round Tuesday at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City.Combined with Monday’s 323 and 329, Cashion finished at 986.

Hall ends Jackets’ historic soccer season

Kingfisher had to wait an extra day to play in its first ever soccer quarterfi nal. When the opportunity finally did arrive last Friday evening, the Jackets were eliminated from the Class 3A bracket with a 5-0 loss at Heritage Hall.The loss wrapped up Kingfisher’s season with a 7-7 record.

Owen Duffy nearly pulled off a repeat of his track and field state championship.The Lomega High School senior ran a personal- best 22.10 in the finals of the 200 meter dash Saturday at the Class A state track and field meet at Western Heights.

Kingfisher got the tying and winning batters on base, but couldn’t quite muster the runs needed to extend its baseball season.The Jackets were eliminated Friday from their Class 4A regional in Tuttle with back-to-back losses.
