Weather forces postponements

While Cashion was able to play its baseball regional at home on Thursday, other local sports weren’t as fortunate.Kingfisher’s Class 4A baseball regional at Tuttle was postponed for a day.The Jackets were set to play Marlow to open the regional Friday afternoon (after press time).

Okarche’s bid for the state baseball tournament fell one win short.The Warriors were defeated in back-to-back games by fourth-ranked Dewar on Sunday to see their season end in the regional championship.

Kingfisher had to travel to Purcell on Monday with hopes of going even further south next week.The Jackets’ mission was accomplished.KHS shot a 36-round total of 635 Monday at Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course to finish as the runner-up at the Class 3A regional.

The 2023 season is going to feel like a new beginning for the Kingfisher High School softball program in more ways than one.It will also be welcoming back a familiar face.
