A 14-under softball team from Kingfisher got its final summer tune-up July 16-17 by claiming a tournament championship in Harrah. The Lady Jackets went 5-0 on the weekend and outscored foes 40-9. The team never surrendered more than three runs in any game.

Kingfisher’s 8-under coach-pitch baseball team is headed to the state tournament.The Jackets last weekend dominated an OK Kids regional tournament hosted at Briscoe Park to punch their ticket to state.They’re not the only Kingfisher team advancing to the final weekend of summer ball.

Thursday marked the end of three consecutive days of pad camp for the Kingfisher High School football team. The Yellowjackets were joined by Guthrie and El Reno and the trio of schools have gathered for multiple sessions throughout the month.

A trio of changes for high school football were adopted by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association board of directors in the spring.Two of the changes will take effect this fall while another won’t begin until the 2024 season.

Father’s Day was a long one for some Kingfisher softball players and their families…but it became one to celebrate. Kingfisher won the Babe Ruth Softball League’s 14-under state championship with four straight elimination wins.

Kingfisher’s Ally Stephenson was one of several local athletes recently named to the Little All-City track and field team for 2022.Little All-City is comprised of Class 4A and below in the counties surrounding Oklahoma City.
