Doubles teams reach 2nd day

Both of Kingfisher’s doubles teams made it to the second day of the Class 4A state tennis tournament before eventually being eliminated.It took three sets for Riverfield Country Day’s Johnson Hale and Anthony Harper to knock out William Shaver and Caden Kitchens in No. 1 doubles.

Sluggish opening and closing rounds saw the Cashion boys golf team take fourth place at the Class 2A state tournament.The Wildcat contingent shot an opening-round 355 Monday at the Buffalo Rock Golf Course in Cushing.

Kingfisher shot progressively better throughout each round to finish fifth in last week’s Class 4A boys state golf tournament.The Jackets had rounds of 335 and 333 during a 36-hole marathon on Monday at Boiling Springs Golf Course in Woodward.They came back Tuesday to fire a 327.

RANDALL SAINTS – Kingfisher’s Chase Davis signs to play basketball at Randall University in Moore. Davis was the Class 4A state tournament MVP as he helped lead the Jackets to the Class 4A state title. He also earned OCA All-State honors. He’s seated with his mother, Lindsay Kopp.
