Any high the Lomega girls basketball team experienced after last week’s finish at the Mid-America Classic was taken away in one night.Okeene shocked the No. 1 ranked team in Class B Tuesday by handing the Lady Raiders a 39-34 loss on their home court.

Although it should prove beneficial for Cashion in February and March, the Tournament of Champions stings in December.The Wildcats dropped their third straight close game of the tournament Wednesday when they fell 51-49 to Class A No. 1 Hydro-Eakly in the seventh-place game at the BOK Center.

Consolation Comeback

Sometimes you give up 10-point leads.Sometimes you overcome them.The Kingfisher girls did the latter on Wednesday as they came back to defeat Piedmont 37-34 to claim the consolation championship of the Mustang Holiday Classic.

Fourth-quarter Jenks

If Jenks is indeed the No. 1 team in Class 6A, then the Cashion Wildcats should like their chances in any class.Cashion gave the Trojans all they wanted for much of the game, but ultimately was saddled with a 53-39 defeat in the opening round of the Tournament of Champions at Tulsa’s BOK Center.
