CASHION HIGH SCHOOL will crown its 2025 football homecoming queen and king this Friday night. The Wildcats will host Watonga for the annual homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

A pair of convincing wins over Wellston added a district championship to Okarche softball’s trophy case.The host Lady Warriors beat Wellston 7-1 Thursday and 6-0 Friday to win a Class A district and advance to this week’s regional tournament.

Okarche will be the underdog this week when it takes part in a Class A fastpitch softball regional.The Lady Warriors will be the lowest-ranked team in the double-elimination tournament to be held at Arapaho-Butler.The host team is ranked No. 4 in the class with a 25-8 record.

There was no flat tire this time.But there will be another ring.Cashion High School bounced back from a disappointing performance at the regional to win a third consecutive Class 2A competitive cheer championship last Saturday at Union High School in Tulsa.

Okarche’s softball team is one win from a district title.The Lady Warriors downed Wellston 7-1 in a Class A district winner’s bracket game on Thursday after earning a bye in the first round.Okarche and Wellston played again at 2 p.m. Friday (after press time).

If the first two games were any indication, Dover’s road to qualify for the fall baseball state tournament for the first time in 15 years certainly won’t be an easy one.

The regular season is wrapping up this week for the larger classes of fastpitch softball with playoffs ready to begin next week.However, the smaller classes are getting a head start.That includes baseball. The fall baseball postseason begins Thursday for county teams - and those statewide.
