Increased wildfire danger this week

Oklahoma Forestry Services is urging an elevated level of caution as the risk of wildfire increases throughout the week.Dry conditions are expected for nearly the entire state leading up to a forecast of possible late-week extreme fire weather.

Rotary Club hosts 4 KHS seniors

Four Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.Joining the local civic group were Brooke Barton, Mia Franco, Kadyn Daugherty and Hailey Bieren.Barton is the daughter of Benjamin and Lisa Barton.She’s active in STUCO, choir and tennis.

Andy Evans and Jan Swart had worked together before.He was the principal and she taught science and coached at Kingfisher Middle School from 2005-07.Their paths crossed again this year.Swart is in her second year as a teacher at Kingfi sher High School.

Annual Lenten Services begin

The annual Lenten Community Service series sponsored by the Kingfisher Ministerial Alliance began Ash Wednesday, March 5, and will run through April 16.

KHS names Students of the Month

Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for February 2025.Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.
