2 city, Okarche board seats on Tuesday ballots

Two Kingfisher City Commission seats and one county school board seat will be decided by voters this week. Although early voting has already begun, the main voting day for the general election is Tuesday, April 7. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Better than par for the course

For much of the past decade, golfers in the spring have been greeted by a new green on the front-nine of the Kingfisher Golf Course. When the hundreds of high school golfers - and those of the recreational sort - visit this spring, they will be welcomed by different kinds of improvements.

MAN FINDS UNCLE AFTER 77 YEARS

(All from Kingfisher Times, April 1, 1926) Finding an uncle, Amasa Clark, who had not been heard from for seventy-seven years, and who was believed to be dead, was the unique and recent experience of Isaac W. Rhodes of near Kingfisher.

Stolen truck found burned on river bank

The Kingfisher County Sheriff ’s Department recovered a stolen vehicle Monday, but serious damage had already been done. Scott Bollenbach alerted Deputy Chad Joyce of a burned vehicle on the Cimarron River bank eight miles east of U.S. 81 on Dover-Crescent Road and two miles south.
