3 decades to honor 4 hours of life
In 1910, a baby boy was born to W.R. and Mable Helt.Given the name Virgil Lawrence Helt, he only lived for four hours and was buried at Grimes Cemetery, east of Kingfisher.It was a piece of history unknown to Evelyn Helt-George, his niece, until approximately 30 years ago.

County approves District 3 equipment purchases
Equipment purchases for District 3 took center stage at Kingfisher County commissioners’ weekly meeting Monday.Two new John Deere 6M 155 tractors were purchased off the state Sourcewell contract for a net price of $12,000.The purchase price of the new tractors was $352,234.
Evans addresses citizen concerns
Multiple citizens spoke out at Monday’s Kingfisher Board of Education meeting, the first for Interim Superintendent Andy Evans, regarding a myriad of concerns ranging from school spending to the potential of contesting the excise board’s amended budget.
