SIGNS ARE now posted and activity has begun at the Iron Oak Energy Solutions sand mine at Dover. Formerly the site of the Arbuckle Materials mine 1 1/2 miles east of U.S. Highway 81 on Dover-Crescent Road, the property was cleaned up and abandoned for some time after Arbuckle relocated.

Organizers say “it’s not just a car show.”They are referencing the Hennessey Hood & Hydraulics Car Show this Saturday, Sept. 12, on North Mitchell Road.Gates open at 6 p.m. and the Car Show begins at 6:30 p.m. with a hopper show at 8 p.m.Awards are at 9:30 p.m.

Debbie Sandefur of Kingfisher is looking for a cherished relic.Specifically, she is trying to track down the whereabouts of the bell from the original First Christian Church in Kingfisher.
