City secures loan for water, sewer needs

Kingfisher Public Works Authority received approval last week for a $5 million Financial Assistance Program (FAP) loan.That announcement was made in a press release by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board after the board approved the loan last Tuesday.

Kingfisher Winter Nights celebrated its 2025 opening night last Saturday. The opening was commemorated by the lighting of a 55-foot Norwegian Spruce that’s planted at the north entrance of Kingfisher Park.

Evans’ evaluation pushed back

Kingfisher Board of Education members on Monday opted to not conduct the evaluation of the school district’s superintendent.The December regular meeting’s agenda called for the action, but members said they didn’t evaluate Andy Evans during an executive session that lasted about 45 minutes.

Theta Tau Donates to Santa’s Toyland

Local Theta Tau members recently made a large donation to benefit county children this Christmas. The chapter not only donated $1,500 to Santa’s Toyland, but also 50 Christmas stockings filled with toiletries, socks, gloves and toys for children 4 to 8 years old.

Okarche Elementary names REAL Warriors

Each month students at Okarche Elementary School are recognized for a good character trait and named “REAL Warriors.” In the month of October 2025, the character trait was “Respect.” REAL is an acronym for Respect, Effort, Attitude and Leadership.

Kingfisher Rotary Club hosts 6 KHS seniors

Six Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.Joining the local civic group were Cooper Young, Bryan Campos, Elijah Click, Izak Oaks, Abel Guzman and Jeremiah Burpo.Young is the son of Michelle and Jeremy Young.
