Jett Mueggenborg hasn’t played a high school basketball game in two months.

That doesn’t stop the postseason honors from rolling in.

The Okarche High School junior was recently announced as the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year for Class A.

“That’s a big-time honor,” said Okarche head coach Aaron West. “We’ve had a lot of great players come through here, but I don’t know if we’ve ever had someone named the Class A Player of the Year.”

Mueggenborg was a major cog in the Okarche machine that went 32-0 and won its second consecutive Class A state championship in 2024-25.

For the year, he averaged 26.2 points, 9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 4.2 steals a game.

He was named the state tournament MVP for the second straight season and the Three Rivers Conference MVP for a third straight year.

Late last month, Mueggenborg was named to the OBCA District 1 team, which includes 74 schools - regardless of classification - in northwest Oklahoma.

That doesn’t include the various all-state and all-star teams to which Mueggenborg has been named ranging from publications like The Oklahoman and The Tulsa World and Chisholm Trail Broadcasting out of Enid.

“He gets a lot of recognition, but he’s also extremely unselfish and humble,” said West of Mueggenborg, who surpassed 1,500 career points during the season. “It’s great to see our guys rewarded for their hard work.”

Other OBCA Players of the Year were: Jaxton Weedn, Stuart, Class B; Denton Forsythe, Dale, Class 2A; Issac Wilkes, Millwood, Class 3A; C.J. Nickson, Weatherford, Class 4A; Carter Roman Nose, El Reno, Class 5A; and Jalen Montonati, Owasso, Class 6A.
