9 Lady Jackets earn all-district selections
Nine Kingfisher High School softball players were recognized last week when the all-district team was announced for 4A-3.
Six players were named to the first team and three more earned honorable mention.
Voted to the first team were senior Shelby Davis at catcher; juniors Kinlee east at shortstop and Adlee Friesen as a utility player; sophomores Kendall Farrar in the outfield and Addison Johnson at third base; and freshman Kennedy Stewart at pitcher.
Picking up honorable mention were senior Reese Roof, junior Liliana Garramone and sophomore Callie Blair.
East was the team’s leading hitter this year as she topped the Lady Jackets in batting average (.438), on-base percentage (.486), slugging percentage (.719) and tied for the team lead in home runs (2).
She was second in hits (42), doubles (9) and triples (6) and was third in RBIs (21) and tied for third in runs scored (22).
Johnson hit .419 during her sophomore campaign, which was second-best on the team. She led the squad with 10 doubles and tied for first with 22 RBIs while being third with 36 hits.
Farrar was third on the team with her .410 average. She led the team with 43 hits, eight triples and 31 RBIs. She was tied with Johnson to lead the squad with 22 RBIs and was third with seven doubles.
Friesen ended the year with a .400 average, fourth best for KHS. She was also second with 23 runs scored and fourth with 32 hits.
Davis hit .326 and drove in 13 runs. She was tied for fifth on the team with 28 hits.
Blair collected a .295 average that included 26 hits on the season. She was tied for fourth with 15 RBIs and scored 15 runs.
Roof tied with Blair in RBIs with 15 and was tied for third with 22 RBIs. She hit .264 and tied for fifth with 28 hits.
Garramone hit .247. She had 21 hits, scored 12 runs and had 7 RBIs.
Kingfisher finished the season 25-10 and advanced to a Class 4A regional final.
The Lady Jackets were 7-5 in their district, good for third place.
