Carrol Gene ‘Shorty’ Jones

Carrol Gene “Shorty” Jones was born on May 27, 1940, to Agnes and Virgil Jones, in Nogal, N.M. Shorty graduated from Capitain High School in 1959. He served in the United States Air Force in the 1960s. On Dec. 19, 2025, Shorty peacefully passed at home in Hennessey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, led by Vernon Racer. It will be located at the One Twenty-Two building on Main Street in Hennessey, formerly the Funtime Video Store he owned in the 2000’s. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
