Makayla Hines made history on Monday as she became Cashion’s first powerlifting state champion.
The junior claimed the title in the 105-pound weight class at the Oklahoma Girls Powerlifting Coaches Association state meet at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant.
Hines had a three-lift total of 530 pounds to claim gold.
She successfully lifted 200 in the squat, 105 in the bench and 225 in the deadlift.
Her squat was first among 105-pound competitors, the bench was second and the deadlift third.
Hines claimed the regional championship in Fairview the week before and was one of three Cashion lifters to qualify for state.
Khloe Kastner, a sophomore, was seventh at 123 pounds.
She lifted 275 in the squat, 125 in the bench and 285 in the deadlift for a total of 625.
Freshman Brynn Geisinger was 15th at 143 pounds.
She cleared 215 in the squat, 85 in the bench and 245 in the deadlift for a total of 545.
